Union Carpenter Talks About Joining MACRC

Local 250 Carpenter Ben Wiseman previously worked non-union but decided to join the union for a better life.

Like some of our Brothers and Sisters, Ben started his career working for a non-union contractor around Chicago. Ben knew there had to be a better way and found the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council.

“I would recommend anyone join the union,” Wiseman said. “Working non-union, you’re missing out on better pay and better quality of life.”

We’ve all heard stories from non-union carpenters about why they didn’t join the union to begin with; lying contractors, anxiety over union dues, working for family members, etc. But one thing is clear, working under the union umbrella is safer and more beneficial to you and your family.

Thank you Ben and all of our members for making this union what it is today.
