Carpenters Brothers and Sisters:
A union membership means more than having a job. It means building a career. And to have a career means having the strength, protection and peace of mind of union benefits. Collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and an experienced staff help empower and safeguard you in the workplace, day in and day out. Away from the job site, a union membership protects you and your family by delivering health care and retirement benefits. And a union membership provides a foundation of skill-advancement training as a constant source of personal enrichment and career progression.
The Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters prides itself on positioning members for success and helping them build careers. As a member in good standing with the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters, you and your family are eligible to take advantage of some brand-new benefits.
Our ability to provide these benefits to you at no cost is the result of a coalition of unions that we have built and our collective purchasing power to drive down prices from benefit providers. In addition to the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters this group—the Midwest Coalition of Labor—includes the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 399, the Laborers’ District Council of Chicago & Vicinity and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 134.
This coalition represents more than 100,000 working men and women across the Midwest. And as more unions join the Midwest Coalition of Labor, we will look to add additional members-only benefits. For more information, go to Midwest Coalition of Labor website click on the link.
The Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters commits to working in the best interests of our brotherhood, providing a foundation of support and protection for you and your families throughout your working careers and into your retirement.

MCL Credit Union Offering Skip-a-Payment Program
Times are tough right now and a helping hand is much appreciated. The team at Midwest Coalition of Labor Credit Union is stepping up to offer a Skip-A-Payment program for active members struggling financially due to the COVID19 pandemic.
The MCL Credit Union is offering two free skips and a third skip for $50 to help the brothers and sisters get through this pandemic. This will allow active members to get to June or July without a payment, and hopefully we can get back to normal by then.
Additionally, anyone that refinances their auto loan to the Credit Union will have the ability to utilize the Skip-A-Pay program as well to delay their payments up to 3 months. Note, the Skip-a-Payment program applies only to auto or personal loans and not to mortgages or home equity lines of credit.
- For more information, contact the MCL general line at 708 482-9606.
- The Skip-a-Payment form can be found here. Completed forms can be sent to: email@example.com
Thank you to MCL Credit Union Casey Martin for his support in a time of need. Be safe and be healthy.
