Kevin McLaughlin

Executive Secretary-Treasurer

Kevin McLaughlin is the Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council, which represents over 53,000 members across Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, and Eastern Iowa. As Executive Secretary-Treasurer, Kevin oversees the union’s day-to-day operations and serves as chairman of the MACRC’s benefit and training funds. He joined the union in 1984 as an apprentice with Carpenters Local 10, where he has served in various capacities including Delegate, Representative, Vice President, and President. He also served as Assistant to the President of the former Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters. Before assuming his current position, Kevin was the National Trade Show Operations Representative for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, where he led the union’s trade show negotiations nationwide. Mr. McLaughlin is also an active civic leader and holds positions on several state and local governing boards, including the Chicago Federation of Labor, Chicago and Cook County Building Trades, and Midwest Coalition of Labor.

Joel Pogose

President

Joel Pogose is President of the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council. Joel is a 26-year member of the union and serves as President of Carpenters Local 250. At 32, he became a full-time Organizer for the then-Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters and eventually worked his way up to become the Director of Organizing. In 2022, he was elected Vice President of the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council. He is active in several non-profit organizations, including Special Olympics Illinois.

Wade Beasley

Vice President

Wade Beasley is Vice President of the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council. Wade is a third-generation union carpenter and Vice President for the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council. He is a 33-year member of Carpenters Local Union 174, where he also serves as Recording Secretary. In addition to his responsibilities in the Carpenters Union, Wade has held positions on several boards, including the Will and Grundy Counties Building Trades Council and Waterways Council, Inc.
