The Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council has announced a new member incentive program that rewards our members for member involvement in council activities and initiatives.
The Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP) was created to encourage members across the Regional Council to get active in their communities and help out with council volunteer opportunities and receive rewards for their efforts. There are many kinds of activities for members to get involved in, such as: pickets, bannering and hand billing activities, phone banking, canvassing, rallies, parades, career fairs and open houses, etc.
Every hour volunteered equals one point (equivalent to $1) towards the purchase of MACRC apparel and merchandise. Members can log up to four hours maximum for each event they’ve volunteered at.
All members in good standing, journey-level, apprentices and retirees can all join the VIP to start earning points. Regional Council staff and Apprenticeship staff are not allowed to join the program. Local meetings, holiday parties and local picnics don’t count toward VIP points. There are many ways to get involved and if you don’t know of any upcoming events, talk to the members of locals or your union reps to see if there are volunteer events coming up.
