Former St. Louis-Kansas City EST Faces UBC Charges

The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America announced internal charges against former St. Louis-Kansas City Carpenters Regional Council EST Al Bond on Friday, March 4.

An internal investigation conducted by the UBC found Bond allegedly committed multiple violations including misappropriation of funds and defrauding the brotherhood.

Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council EST Gary Perinar said in announcement to the membership that the organization has a zero-tolerance policy for the suspected conduct.

“Let me be very clear, the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council has zero tolerance for any conduct that would violate our members’ trust. Anyone who violates this policy will face the full consequences of their actions, up to and including criminal charges and revoking their union membership,” Perinar said.

The matter is expected to be set for trial where Bond will have an opportunity to respond to the internal charges.

In addition to the UBC investigation, the MACRC is also conducting its own investigation into the former regional council. Any appropriate actions will be taken if need be.

The Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council exists to serve its members, and that will always be the organization’s guiding principal.
