Friday’s 50th anniversary celebration of the MACRC Apprentice Graduation Dinner was one for the ages!
Nearly 1,000 people came out to the Westin in Lombard, IL to honor the 330 graduates from our northeastern Illinois region who successfully journeyed out. In 50 years, 16,379 apprentices have graduated from this world-class program!

We were honored with the presence of both UBC General President Douglas McCarron and UBC General Secretary-Treasurer Mark McGriff at the event, in addition to numerous labor leaders from throughout Illinois. EST Gary Perinar played a video commemorating the 50th anniversary and gave a rousing speech congratulating the apprentices for all the hard work they put in to achieve the life-changing milestone of becoming a journeyman.
Congrats again to our apprentices and thank you to our signatory contractors, our Council leadership, and our training program leaders and instructors who make our apprenticeship program second to none. Here’s to the next 50! #UnionProud
