A bipartisan group of US Representatives and Senators announced that the US Army Corps of Engineers has allocated more than $800 million dollars to modernizing the upper Mississippi River.

Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council representatives attended the groundbreaking for the new $150 million Walker’s Bluff Casino in Carterville, Ill. The casino will be union built using several signatory contractors including Samron Construction, Hoelscher Interiors, Fager-McGee Construction and A+K Specialties.

Just outside of downtown St. Louis, union carpenters are working on the new $250 million Forsythe Pointe office building in Clayton, Mo. McCarthy Building Cos. is leading the way on the construction and development. The building will feature 1-million square feet of office and retail space, as well as, a 1,200-car parking lot. It was the first chance since our merger in September to meet in person and get to better know the members
