If you need something to brighten your day check out the work our members did over the weekend building a new front porch and back stairs for an elderly woman in Englewood who has cancer and desperately needed the repairs. Carpenters Local 1 Business Representative Tony Guida put the crew together through a long-standing partnership with Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago, a nonprofit that improves homes and neighborhoods of people in need.
Shout out to BUsiness Representative, Tony Guida and Journeymen Eduardo Castillo, James Emrick, Rass Johnson, Keith Williams, Brian Gory, Bill Gory, Sule’ Campara, Maurice Haynes and Willie Davis, and Apprentices Henry Mallin, Ian Young, Angel Vasquez for spending 10 hours of their day on a Saturday volunteering their time to make sure the woman was taken care of. Thanks also to Rebuilding Together’s Lisa Miranda, Chad Ruckauf and Lloyd Davidson for putting the project together. We will always be a positive force in building communities!
