Carpenters Participate In Safety Discussion During National Safety Week

As Union Carpenters, safety is something we take seriously everyday on the jobsite. Recently, members across the Regional Council took part in safety discussions during OSHA’s National Stand-Down To Prevent Falls in Construction Week.

According to OSHA, nearly one-third of all falls in the construction industry result in a fatality – with all of those falls being preventable. While safety protocols have gotten much better, we still have to work together and be mindful on the jobsite so make sure we bring fall numbers down even more.

Our safety team led by Safety Director Al Jotautas and Assistant Safety Directors Butch Sikora and Jerrod Walton take safety seriously and so do our contractors. Let’s keep up the great work in 2024 and continue to be the gold standard for safety on jobsites.

Thank all of our contractors, OSHA Officials, and property owners who participated in Safety Stand Downs at Hard Rock Casino, Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital, and our Training Center in Elk Grove Village.
