Cantigny VFW Gets Help from Carpenters Local 1185

The Cantigny VFW in Joliet was in need of their banquet hall floor to be redone and looking great with new wax. The Commander reached out to Local 1185 and asked for our assistance. Local 1185 has maintenance technicians who are union members and union floor maintenance contractors.

With the assistance of Timco Chicago, Steve Starcher and his crew, Antonio Davis, Rayvon Crowell and Raven Crowell, worked hard to make the floor shiny and new again….thank you!

The cost of the work was covered by the PFIA and without the leadership of Tom Sheridan, President of PCI Flortech and the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters, this would not be possible. When this opportunity came up everybody jumped on the chance to give back, not only to take care of a historical building but also to those whom have protected our freedoms.  Not only is Local 1185 doing the VCT maintenance, but the stage will also be redone by union members and union contractor, Mr. David’s Flooring International – at no charge to the VFW. Thank you all for supporting the Cantigny VFW in Joliet.
