Carpenters’ Apprentice and Training Director Vince Sticca joined Lou Manfredini on WGN Radio’s Mr. Fix-It show over the weekend to participate in a show about labor unions. Director Sticca’s segment can be heard HERE.
Manfredini, who grew up in the trades and spent a bit of time as a union carpenter, said “I am a proponent of the trades, and I think it’s a great way to make a good living.” We certainly agree! And as a former framing carpenter in Milwaukee Lou disclosed something the vast majority of us feel ourselves: “It’s my favorite union.”
Director Sticca suggested that individuals interested in learning more about developing their career as union carpenters visit www.Chicap.org. Individuals must be at least 18 years of age, hold a valid driver’s license and Social Security card, pass a proficiency and drug test, and reside in one of the following counties: Cook, Lake, DuPage, McHenry, Iroquois, Kane, Kendall, Will, Kankakee or Grundy.
The Carpenters thank WGN Radio, Lou Manfredini and the Mr. Fix-It Show for the opportunity extended to speak about union carpenter careers. To listen to the Jan. 20 show in its entirety, click HERE.
