Union Carpenters Build New Chicago Heights Middle School

Here’s a short video about the new 150,000 square-foot Chicago Heights Middle School our members helped build. The $40 million school is expected to be completed by the end of July and is the first newly constructed school facility in Chicago Heights in decades. Local 272 member Tim Toppen, a 15-year union member who works for Siteline Interior Carpentry, and Paul Sedlacek, a superintendent with general contractor Chicago Heights Construction, explain why union carpenters are best-suited for these projects.
