Tradeswomen Takeover Illinois State Capitol

It was a banner day at the Illinois State Capitol for the Tradeswomen Take Over Springfield day of action.

More than 300 tradeswomen from throughout the state converged at the capitol today to lobby lawmakers on behalf of a new resolution advocating state-level policies that strengthen pathways for women in the trades.

Local 237 member Cindy Brooks did a fantastic job sharing her story about how being in the union changed her life and provided support when she needed it most. We were also fortunate to have UBC Sisters in the Brotherhood Director Sandra Rodriguez join us to help lobby lawmakers. Thanks to all who came out!
