The National Coalition of Labor’s open enrollment period for Life, AD&D, and Short-Term Disability insurance has begun, and will run through the end of December. During this period, active members in good standing can purchase this coverage with no medical questions!
Members can purchase up to $400,000 in life and AD&D for themselves (formerly $350k) and $100,000 for their spouse (formerly $30k) with no medical questions or exams at all. Active members who purchase supplemental coverage can take it with them into retirement up to age 75.
Short-term disability coverage is provided by MetLife, and is also on top of benefits from the union, as well as workers’ compensation. Two plans are available – $13.75 per month for $250/week in benefits, or $27.50 per month for $500/week. Check out the NCL Website to learn more about these insurance plans.
