Though there is light at the end of the tunnel with COVID-19, we know many of our members are still at risk of losing their health insurance benefits due to a loss of work caused by the pandemic. I want to let you know the Chicago Regional Council is once again taking action to not let that happen.
Last week, the trustees representing the Chicago Welfare Fund voted for the 4TH TIME to extend healthcare Insurance eligibility to active CHICAGO PLAN members through the quarter ending May 31, 2021. This action once again demonstrates the commitment of our Union’s leadership to help the hardworking men and women of the Chicago Regional Council who lost significant work due to the pandemic.
The trustees also voted to extend the 25 percent reduction in COBRA premiums for CHICAGO PLAN members through Dec. 31, 2021.
