Fiesta del Sol, held annually in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, is the largest Latino festival in the Midwest, drawing more than 1 million attendees every year. The Chicago Regional Council was a sponsor at this year’s festival through a partnership with radio station La Ley and our participation was a huge success!
We appreciated speaking to everybody who stopped by our trailer to learn more about the Carpenters Union and the life-changing wages and benefits we offer. We had great discussions with potential new members, politicians, community leaders, and contractors. Thanks to all our volunteers who helped out over the 4 days, including Organizers, our Sisters, and members. Special thanks to EST Gary Perinar for coming by to visit and to Local 58 Business Representative Alex Perez and Organizer Gil Barragan for all their help setting things up!
