After graduating from Lane Tech, Joe started an apprenticeship with the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters and after 4 years graduated to journeyman carpenter out of Carpenters Local 58. After 9/11, he joined the Army first serving in the reserves, then on active duty stationed in Ft. Lewis as an Army engineer, during which time he served two years of combat duty in Afghanistan. After coming back home in 2008 to the great recession, he used the GI bill to get a degree in accounting from DePaul’s Driehaus School of Business. Then in 2012 he began a career in law enforcement. Joe is a big supporter of labor! Get out and vote – make it count at the next election!
