Carpenters Mourn Loss of Management Trustee

It is with deep sorrow that we inform you of the death of Paul Hellermann, a resident of Naperville, Illinois, who passed away peacefully on Feb. 9, 2017.

Paul HellermannPaul is survived by his wife Deborah of 43 years; his children Alyson (Matthew) Ewald, Andrew (Maggie) Hellermann, April (Eric) Kemph and Amy (Zachary) Brauer; his grandchildren Abigail Ewald, AJ Hellermann, Audrey Hellermann and Benjamin Ewald; and his sister Barbara Hellermann. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, trusted friend, strong leader, and champion of the building industry.

Paul served as a management trustee for the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters’ Welfare Fund, Supplemental Retirement Fund and Pension Fund while employed as president and chief operating officer of Bulley & Andrews LLC.  His contributions to the Regional Council will be greatly missed.

“Paul combined an amiable personality with a high level of competence, understanding and commitment to advancing the building industry,” said Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters’ President Frank T. Libby. “His experienced perspective, level of engagement and contributions as a trustee for the Carpenters’ Funds will be greatly missed.”

In addition to being on the board of directors of Bulley & Andrews, Paul had served as chairman of the Mid-American Regional Bargaining Association (MARBA) and director and chairman of the Builders’ Association.

Paul was a proud graduate of Bradley University. Beyond his extensive professional involvement he immersed himself in community endeavors and philanthropic interests such as Autism Speaks and Rebuilding Together. Paul was a world traveler with friends and enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family in the Caribbean. He was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox and supported any sport played by his grandchildren.
