320 Apprentices Honored At 49th Annual Graduation Dinner

Union pride filled the air Friday night at our 49th Annual Apprentice Graduation Dinner in Lombard where 320 4th-year apprentices received certificates and officially became Journeymen.

Two men in suits stand at a podium labeled "The Westin" with an American flag beside them. Behind them, others applaud and a large "Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council" logo is projected on the wall.

Several dignitaries came out for the event, including UBC Midwestern District Vice President Mark McGriff, UBC Training Program Executive Director Royce Peters, IL AFL-CIO President Tim Drea, as well as heads of several contractor associations. It was a also a special moment for MACRC Training Director Vince Sticca, who will be retiring at the end of the year and received a standing ovation.

EST Gary Perinar congratulated the graduates and told them they are now professional craftsman and should be proud of all they have achieved. Congrats grads! #UnionProud
