Wood Species for Architectural Millwork One

This course addresses the proper selection of primarily hardwood species for successful interior and exterior projects.  Factors such as sustainability, intended use, jobsite and end use environments, hardness, relative stability, and cost will be discussed.  Attendees will learn about the various cuts and grades of wood species used in architectural design.  Oak, poplar, maple, ash, cherry, alder, and more exotic species will be covered.  The importance of a carefully controlled jobsite and a professional installation will be stressed.
