The Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters represents nearly 40,000 men and women in 81 counties in Northern Illinois, Southeastern Wisconsin and Eastern Iowa. We are composed of affiliated local unions that represent our members. The Chicago Regional Council provides the construction and maintenance industries with productive, competitive and certified professionals, encompassing a wide variety of crafts and skills.
One Trade, Many Crafts – The term "carpenter" is a blanket term for the numerous skills performed by the members of the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters. Throughout its history the union has developed many specialty trades. The Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters offers every member continuing and developmental training in all of these specialties. Many members are proficient in numerous trades.
