Carpenter Training Center Tour

This continuing education program is a guided tour of the Carpenter Training Center during the 2008 Open House featuring the training program at it's finest with extensive displays and working carpenter demonstrations.  The 275,000 square foot Carpenter Training Center is part of the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters, the Chicago Union carpenter organization.

The program is offered to architectural professionals to see first hand the extensive, thorough, state-of-the-art, and on-going training available to Chicago area union carpenters.  The tour will cover general carpentry, interior systems, concrete form building, mill cabinet, flooring, insulation, fire stopping, architectural hardware, and numerous aspects of construction safety.  The participants will be able to ask questions, handle materials, and observe new construction technologies.

After completing this tour you will be able to:  

  • Understand the skills trained carpenters can bring to your job  
  • Recognize that carpenter training is extensive, thorough, state-of-the-art and  on-going  
  • Specify the training required for a professional carpentry installation
