Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago is part of a national nonprofit program that sponsors National Rebuilding Day across the country on the last Saturday in April. Every year the organization selects a different Chicago neighborhood and south suburb in which to provide free home repair for elderly, disabled, or low income individuals.
Every year the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters partners with Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago to help low-income homeowners. On this year's National Rebuilding Day—Saturday, April 24, 2010—carpenter volunteers repaired homes in the Chicago neighborhood of Austin and West Suburban Berwyn.
