Rockford Apprentice & Training Center Opened in Grand Style

The Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters' Rockford Apprentice & Training Center Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony was held Oct. 14, 2010, at 1117 Tebala Blvd. in Rockford, IL.  The event was held on a cool, but sunny day with the beautiful new facility serving as a backdrop to a host of speakers:

Brad Long, President - Northwestern IL Building Trades; Business Representative Carpenters Local 792

George Tuhowski, Chairman of the Illinois Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council

Doug Lid, Director - Carpenters Apprentice & Training Program

Formal tours of the 48,000-square-foot facility were offered, providing guests with the chance to witness the training center in action.

Demonstrations running concurrently included:

 *Fall Protection Class
 *Scaffold Class
 *Energy Audit/Certified Energy Analyst and Weatherization Display
